Good to know

Our condo unit is quite spacious, airy, and bright. It is in the center of the tourist district and is in the old Baguio Townhouse (NOT IN THE NEW OUTLOOK RIDGE CONDOMINIUM). The condo unit has views of the mountains and the former Vice President’s cottage. 16 guests max. One car only. Go behind the building to park 2nd car. If there is no slot available, please park in front of the Mansion and Chona will reimburse your parking fee. We don’t recommend our place to guests who have difficulty climbing stairs. You have to climb two floors and a half (around 40 stairs) before you reach our unit. The best time to visit Mines View Park is before sunrise. Wait for the sun to come out from behind the mountains. If you are lucky, you may even witness a sea of clouds. The healthy can walk or jog. A car ride at this time will take 3 minutes. We have 2 bathrooms only. The shower room at the attic does not have water. There’s only one parking slot in front of the building that is allotted to us. There is a guarded pay parking lot behind the building. 200 pesos. This is a 50-year-old condominium. Please expect some glitches in the utility services. If there is no electricity, there will also be no water. We will refund 50% of each day there is no water and electricity for more than 4 hours. Also, if the toilets get clogged. This is due to the old state of the condominium's sewage system.

Other Details to Note

The Baguio Townhouse is populated by local residents and lowlanders who use their units as vacation havens when the heat in Manila becomes unbearable. Quiet and peace are expected after 9 p.m. Guests who want to continue their merrymaking can go to the many restaurants and bars around the area. There are classy and budget restaurants very near the area. We also do not normally allow pets. If ever, only two pets are allowed. If your pet weighs less than 20 pounds, we charge 200 pesos each a night. If more than 20 pounds, 300 pesos each a night. We will allow your pets under these conditions. 1. you agree to pay for the damage caused by your pet. 2. your pet will stay only on the main floor (and should not be allowed to go up the attic bedroom). 3. you will clean the pooh of your pet. The manure and the cleaning materials used are to be placed inside a plastic bag. The said bag should be placed outside the unit and our housekeeper should be informed accordingly. It should not be mixed with the other garbage. Many jeepneys and taxis pass and park near the Baguio Townhouse.

Neighborhood

There are many hotels, tourist spots, restaurants and bars near the Baguio Townhouse. If you want to relax among the pine trees, you can drive or jog to the Reflection pool in front of the Mansion. Walking around the pool is highly recommended. There is also a public market at the Pacdal rotunda. We recommend you have coffee and Thai food at the Outlook Ridge behind the townhouse. They have a beautiful roof deck that overlooks the Cordillera mountain range. It beats the view from Mines View Park and is not crowded. If you wish to go to Mines View Park, we recommend you go before sunrise. If you are lucky, you might catch a sea of clouds below you.

Guest Access

Guests will have exclusive use of the townhouse unit. Guests can go to all corners of the unit. No member of my family stays in the unit. Not even our housekeeper. Smoking is allowed in the living and dining room only if both windows are open. And if everyone in the group agrees. Sorry, we do not have a roof deck. If you wish to use the roof deck of the Outlook Ridge Building, you will have to dine at the Basil and Lime Restaurant. They serve reasonably priced and delicious Thai food. They have a beautiful roof deck overlooking a mountain range. To get to this old Irish home. 1. If using maps or Waze, kindly type DBP Training Complex. Baguio townhouse condominium, where the unit is located, is the yellow building across. Please do not use the address written on our Airbnb page because it will lead you to the parking lot at the back of the building and you will have to walk very far to your unit. Use DBP so you can use the front entrance. 2. Go to Mansion House. If the Mansion is on your left, make a U-turn. If the Mansion is on your right, go straight until you reach the first road on your right. The building in front of you is the Baguio Townhouse (where your unit is located). 3. You can park in front 1 car only. The other car must park behind and pay 200 pesos. 4. Ask the guard for Chona. She will give you the key and show you the unit. A pet fee is imposed. Extra persons are not allowed.

Find us

You can get taxis and jeepneys right in front of the town house. Jeepneys are difficult to get during rush hours.
